About them
Vaive is a company dedicated to the recovery and restoration of golf balls at sports complexes across the Spanish Levant. Its mission is to minimize the environmental impact of golf as much as possible by recycling materials and promoting a circular economy within the sector. To achieve this, they employ teams of professional divers who retrieve the material from water hazards, which is then taken to the plant where the balls are restored for sale.
Naming
The name Vaive stems precisely from that back-and-forth movement (aivén), reflecting the life cycle these golf balls undergo time and time again, as well as the motion of the water from which they are recovered. Furthermore, its Valencian translation reinforces the brand’s local roots, while the omission of the accent mark makes it accessible to international customers, a major demographic in Mediterranean golf.
Art direction
With Vaive, I wanted to convey friction and motion. First, through the logo, representing the back-and-forth movement of golf balls inspired by a pendulum. Friction comes through a visual identity far from traditional golf: an industrial, utilitarian aesthetic with grids, monospaced typography, and neon green accents that reflect the brand's sustainability and disruptive edge.
This urban, industrial feel extends to the photography, creating a frame that sparks curiosity about the environmental benefits of this alternative. The not so traditional packaging box, built from slotted cardboard pieces is an example of this, as it used its utilitarian-industrial design to invite the customer to check the QR code in the box, which is linked to the product's enviromental savings.
To put sustainability at the core of the design, all stationery is printed in black and white to minimize ink usage, while digital assets use dark backgrounds to reduce battery consumption.
